Jamie Crowther’s Bio
Jamie is a Research Fellow specialising in the co-production of sport and physical activity interventions that address health inequalities and create meaningful opportunities for underserved groups. His current work includes developing a toolkit to support young women and gender diverse young people into leadership roles, and designing peer-to-peer mental health interventions within community sport settings.
Having played rugby league for most of his life, including at semi-professional level, Jamie brings an insider’s understanding of both the potential and the pitfalls of sporting cultures. This lived experience fuels his commitment to reshaping sport into a space where diversity is celebrated, mental health is prioritised, and all individuals have the chance to thrive.
As a passionate advocate for neurodiversity and mental health, Jamie blends academic expertise with sporting insight to challenge tokenistic inclusion and promote lasting, structural change. His work emphasises the importance of co-production, cultural fit, and lived experience in building environments of confidence, belonging, and opportunity across sport and physical activity.
