This week's neurodivergent athlete spotlight is shining on first class English cricketer Benny Howell.
Benny attributes much his unique creativity on the pitch to his ADHD. According to ESPN cricinfo, "Benny Howell began his career as an opening batter for Hampshire before forging his reputation as a uniquely innovative short-format bowler and explosive middle-order batter. Having adapted bowling techniques borrowed from baseball pitchers, he has been variously described as a mystery seamer, slower-ball specialist, and fast spinner."
Benny's grateful that with the addition of T20, cricket is moving away from a traditional 'one-size-fits-all' culture, to one that embraces diversity and difference.
